Victorian Alpine Resorts welcome news of a 2020 snow season

The Victorian Alpine Resorts welcome the State Government announcement of a further easing of Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions, and that the snow season can commence from 22 June 2020. This is exciting and welcome news for all Victorians who love the snow.

The Victorian Alpine Resorts are continuing to work on their COVID SAFE operating plans, including capacity management, traceability, cleaning and hygiene, accommodation (commercial, shared and staff), food and beverage and transportation. There is much to be done before the resorts can provide their usual services including downhill skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing, and the resort communities are looking forward to welcoming visitors from 22 June 2020.

In the meantime, the resorts will be open as destinations that can be visited in accordance with Victorian State Government directives.

Anyone visiting from the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend will be required topre-purchase a resort entry pass onlineand carry wheel chains as required by each resort. However, the ski fields will remain closed, along with most of the other facilities and services that usually mark the formal commencement of the season.

Pre-purchased ticketed entry enables the resorts to effectively manage capacity in accordance with the Victorian Governments’ public health measures. It also sustains services that are essential to keep the resorts operating during this time including snow clearing, parking and public facilities.
